We love enthusiasm. We love school pride. We love a coach who says, “We just sketched this on a napkin — can you put it on 150 hoodies by Friday?” What don’t we love? Knowing that napkin sketch turns into a blurry, fuzzy, pixelated mess on a $60 performance sweatshirt.

If you’re printing apparel, banners, yard signs, or anything that needs to look sharp from 2 feet and 200 feet away, your artwork matters more than you think.

There are two main types of artwork files:

• Raster files (JPG, PNG): Made of tiny pixels. When you enlarge them, they get blurry.
• Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG): Made of math-based paths. They scale infinitely without losing quality.

If your logo was pulled from a website, copied from Facebook or texted from a screenshot… it’s probably raster. And that’s why it looks great on your phone but rough on a 4-foot banner.

For printing — especially screen printing, embroidery, and large-format signage — vector is king.
