Spirit wear is always part of the sidelines but it's starting to take centerstage. More schools and teams are choosing apparel that looks like something you'd find in your favorite boutique—and we love it.
Here are a few trends we're seeing this year:
Oversized Fits
Relaxed hoodies and roomy crewnecks continue to be favorites. They're comfortable, stylish and become the sweatshirt everyone reaches for game day or running to Target.
Vintage Athletic Designs
Think classic collegiate fonts, arched lettering and retro-inspired graphics. These timeless designs feel fresh while still showing plenty of school pride. We will always love a good athletic block font, it's fun to see everyone else does now too!
Texture Adds Value
Flat prints are great, but adding dimension makes apparel stand out. Embroidery, chenille patches, appliqué and puff ink give garments a premium look and feel. You will see patches this year and we are eagerly waiting for one of our clients to ask for a faux leather one.
Color is Making a Comeback
Neutrals will always have a place, but we're seeing more kelly green, butter yellow, powder blue and soft pink alongside traditional school colors.
Boutique-Inspired Details
Bows, stripes and layered graphics are finding their way into spirit wear. The best part? These trends can be incorporated while still keeping your school's identity front and center.
The Biggest Trend? Better Apparel.
Today's students, parents and alumni expect spirit wear that feels like retail clothing—not just another fundraiser t-shirt.
That means choosing quality garments, thoughtful decoration methods and designs people will actually wear outside of school events.
At Ox Graphix, we love taking inspiration from what's happening in retail fashion and adapting those ideas into custom apparel that feels fresh while staying true to your school or team.
Because the best spirit wear doesn't just show school pride—it becomes someone's favorite sweatshirt.
